Wisdom Tooth Removal

Wisdom Tooth Removal at Diestel Dental Group, Hong Kong

Simple and surgical tooth extractions — including wisdom teeth — under local anaesthesia, with sedation available for anxious patients.

What it covers

From straightforward extractions to more complex or impacted wisdom teeth. Simple extractions can be carried out by our general dentists; complex or surgical cases are usually handled by our oral and maxillofacial surgeons.

Comfort options

Most extractions are done under local anaesthesia. For anxious patients or longer surgical cases, treatment can be arranged under sedation (Monitored Anaesthesia Care).

Recovery

Your dentist will give you clear aftercare instructions. Mild swelling for a few days is normal; we will explain how to manage it and when to return if needed.

Frequently asked questions

Does removing a tooth hurt?
The area is fully numbed with local anaesthesia, so you should feel pressure but not pain. Sedation is available if you feel anxious.
Do I need to have my wisdom teeth out?
Not always. They are removed when impacted, causing pain, infection or crowding, or difficult to keep clean. Your dentist will advise based on an X-ray.
How long is the recovery?
Simple extractions settle within a few days. Surgical wisdom-tooth removal may take a little longer, and we will give you full aftercare guidance.

Care for this treatment is available across our five Hong Kong clinics.
