Who we are

Diestel Dental Group (“the Group”, “we”) operates this website, diesteldentalgroup.com, for its five dental clinics in Hong Kong:

  • Smith & Jain Dentists, Central
  • Diestel & Partners (Dental Surgeons), Central
  • Bayside Dental Tung Chung
  • Bayside Dental Discovery Bay (North Plaza)
  • Bayside Dental Discovery Bay (Main Plaza)

We handle personal data in line with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486).

What this website collects

This website has no booking forms, enquiry forms or user accounts, and does not ask for your name, phone number or medical information.

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site: which pages are read, the type of device and browser, the approximate area you browse from and how you reached the site. Google Analytics uses cookies to do this. We look only at aggregate reports, use them to improve the website, and do not use them to identify individual visitors.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The website still works without them.

When you contact a clinic

The WhatsApp, call and booking buttons take you to one of our clinics, through its phone line, its WhatsApp or its own website. Any details you then share, such as your name, contact number or dental concern, are handled by that clinic.

WhatsApp is operated by Meta and is subject to its own terms and privacy policy.

How our clinics use your personal data

When you register or attend for treatment, the clinic collects personal and clinical information to:

  • provide dental assessment, treatment and follow-up care;
  • arrange appointments and handle billing;
  • send appointment confirmations, reminders and recall notices by WhatsApp, email or SMS.

To support your care across locations, your records may be shared securely among the five clinics listed above.

We do not sell your personal data or pass it to third parties for their marketing. Service providers that help run our clinics, such as messaging platforms, receive data only for that purpose and under confidentiality obligations.

Your rights

Under the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance, you may ask to access and correct the personal data we hold about you. You may also ask us to stop sending marketing messages at any time. Appointment confirmations and clinical reminders are part of your care and continue while your patient file is open.

If you are not sure which clinic holds your records, email info@smithandjaindentists.com. We respond to data access requests within 40 days, as the Ordinance requires.

Data security and retention

We take reasonable steps to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss or misuse. Clinical records are kept for as long as your care requires and as legal and professional rules require.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest version.
